Rental Car Inspection in Tangier: Collection and Return

An inspection records the car actually handed over and provides a basis for comparison at return. Use a method even when you are in a hurry: a quick, poorly lit video may not reveal existing damage.

Walk around before moving the car

Start with general views identifying the vehicle. Photograph each side, bumpers, wheels, windscreen and mirrors. For a mark, take both a contextual picture and a close-up; an isolated detail can be difficult to locate later.

Have existing defects recorded on the collection document. Photos support the signed inspection; they do not replace reporting a concern to the representative.

Check the cabin and agreed equipment

Inspect the seats, boot and supplied accessories. Test controls you need before driving: lights, wipers, mirror adjustment and demisting. If a warning light stays on or equipment seems faulty, ask for an explanation before leaving.

A requested child seat or accessory should match what was confirmed. Do not accept unsuitable equipment simply to save time.

Record the dashboard

While stationary, take a clear photograph of the fuel gauge and odometer. Ask what fuel level is expected at return and how a difference would be recorded. Keep the final fuel receipt if useful for documenting the handover.

Compare the same parts at return

The rental rate does not establish repair charges. If there is a disagreement, request a description of the damage, comparison evidence and an explanation of the amount claimed.
